Then, one day, a bird appears from the little slice of sky, and lands on his window ledge. The bird is looking for a friend. But not just any friend – a very special friend, to whom it can give a tiny but amazing gift. The gift is a magical seedling. Max takes great care of the little plant, and every day it grows bigger and stronger, its glossy leaves stretching up toward the little slice of sky. Soon it has grown into a mighty tree.
