Bending the Light

Adolescence is one of life's most challenging — and most transformative — journeys. It is a time when young people begin to question who they are, where they belong, and the choices that will shape their future. In astrology, these formative years are marked by Saturn, the planet of responsibility, resilience, and self-discovery.

In Bending the Light, internationally acclaimed astrologer and educator Alex Trenoweth introduces the concept of the Shadowlands — the passage through adolescence where identity is tested and character is forged.

Blending astrology with decades of classroom experience, she explores how an understanding of Saturn can help parents, teachers, and astrologers support young people through this crucial stage of development.

Through inspiring and cautionary case studies of Saturn in every sign, Alex demonstrates that astrology does not determine destiny. Rather, it illuminates the choices available to us. By understanding Saturn's lessons, we can learn to bend the light toward wisdom, resilience, and purpose, helping the next generation emerge from the Shadowlands stronger, wiser, and more fully themselves.
