Fern & the First Day of Fall

Join Fern as she prepares an autumnal feast in Fern & the First Day of Fall: A Wheel of the Year Book, a picture-book celebration of the fall equinox and Pagan festival of Mabon. It’s harvest time and Fern is ready for a fall feast. She begins to gather vegetables, but the hot weather has spoiled her garden! Will Fern find a way to feed her friends? Follow Fern as she learns about the power of turning to community support to overcome challenges and build a village of care. In the fourth installment of Kathleen Converse’s Wheel of the Year series, readers will join a familiar cast of characters as they come together to celebrate the fall equinox and magic of Mabon. Following the story, families will find back matter on the history of fall equinox celebrations as well as rituals and spells designed to celebrate the season together.
