Eris Miserian has had enough. On her coming-of-age ceremony her husband to be arrived hand-in-hand with Helena Antebellum, who was wearing the same dress as Eris. Rather than reprimand the crown prince for humiliating Eris, her father and the King seem only interested in making sure that Eris would not call off the wedding with the prince.
