The Bandweaver's Project Book

Thirty-four beautiful, accessible, and practical projects you can make with warp-faced tabby bandweaving, complete with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions, diagrams, and color photos. Wondering what to do with all your handwoven bands? This book has the answer. These 34 Nordic-style projects use the simplest bandweaving technique—warp-faced tabby—but could easily be adapted for other techniques like pick-up or tablet weaving. It's a resource for all bandweavers, whether they work on an inkle loom, band heddle, tape loom, backstrap loom, or tablets, and whether they weave simple tabby or intricate patterns. You'll find a variety of projects with unique design details; full-page color photos; diagrams; and clear, concise instructions for pieces including: • bracelets • tassels • carriers and pouches • hatbands • and much more! The second part of the book brings you 16 finishing techniques with detailed diagrams—a valuable resource for all your bandweaving work. Since this book is aimed at readers who already know how to weave bands, no basic weaving instructions are included. But there are two special tip sections on working with wool and estimating yardage requirements for warp and weft. In addition, an extensive project gallery shows you more ways you can use bandweaving to create your own unique woven designs.
